Richard Tsang
Composer, conductor, educator and broadcaster extraordinaire Richard Tsang showcases his body of work with the Hong Kong Children’s Choir at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall. Highlights includes the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra’s commissioned work Ceremonial Ode (Temple Rituals) and Ever-changing, featuring percussionist Ronald Chin. Tickets: HK$120-HK$260

Tennis Classic 2009
This unique concept sees teams of three representing Europe, Russia, the Americas and the Asia Pacific competing over a series of singles and doubles matches at Hong Kong’s Victoria Park. World No 1 Jelena Jankovic, 2008 Australian Open winner Maria Sharapova and seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams are among the star names taking part, with China’s Zheng Zie and up-and-coming Hong Kong player Zhang Ling sure to give local fans plenty to cheer. 2009 Mission Hills Asia-Pacific Open
You may spot the next Tiger Woods in the making when the Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen plays host to the Asia-Pacific Open Amateur Championship. Limited to golfers with a handicap of 5.4 or better, the 72-hole strokeplay tournament takes place on the gruelling World Cup course. An added incentive for the winner is automatic entry into the 2009 Australian Open Championship.

The music of two beloved Eastern European composers will reverberate throughout Macau Tower’s auditorium this January.
